Who We Are

This website, DHtrout.ink, is the official author site for D.H. Trout and supports Twenty Years in Egypt, Crowded Skies, and related works published through HarePress. If you have questions about this policy or how information is handled, contact us at contact@DHtrout.ink.

Information We Collect

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our web hosting provider may automatically log standard technical information when you visit a page. This may include your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, pages requested, and the date and time of your visit. This information is used for ordinary hosting, security, troubleshooting, and site-performance purposes.

Information you provide voluntarily. If you contact us by email at contact@DHtrout.ink, we receive whatever information you include in your message, such as your email address, name, and the content of your correspondence. This site does not currently use account registration, checkout forms, or other forms that ask visitors to submit personal information directly through the website.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

This site does not currently use cookies for advertising, retargeting, or behavioral marketing. Standard web and hosting technologies may use limited local storage, caching, or similar mechanisms needed to deliver pages reliably and securely.

If analytics or other services that use cookies are added in the future, this policy will be updated to identify those services and explain the choices available to visitors.

Third-Party Services and Outbound Links

This site contains outbound links to third-party websites, including Amazon.com, where visitors may purchase D.H. Trout books. When you follow an outbound link, you leave DHtrout.ink and become subject to the privacy policy, terms, and practices of the destination site. We do not control the privacy practices of third-party websites.

Purchases, payment information, shipping information, customer accounts, and order history are handled by Amazon or another retailer you choose. DHtrout.ink does not receive or store your payment-card information.

Amazon Associates disclosure. Some Amazon links on this site may be affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate, the site owner may earn from qualifying purchases, at no additional cost to the purchaser.

How We Use Information

Information described above may be used to maintain and improve site performance, reliability, and security; understand basic site traffic and technical issues through hosting records; respond to visitors who contact us by email; and detect or prevent unauthorized access, abuse, or technical problems.

We do not sell, rent, or trade visitor information to third parties.

Data Retention and Security

Server log information is retained by the hosting provider according to its own operational and security practices. Email correspondence may be retained as reasonably necessary to respond to inquiries or maintain records of communications.

We use reasonable measures to protect information associated with this site, including encrypted HTTPS connections where supported by the hosting environment. No method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Your Privacy Choices and Rights

You may configure your browser to limit cookies, local storage, or other website technologies. Because DHtrout.ink does not currently require cookies for normal browsing, disabling cookies should not prevent you from reading the site.

If you have contacted us by email and wish to ask what information remains in that correspondence, request correction, or request deletion where appropriate, contact contact@DHtrout.ink.

Residents of jurisdictions with specific privacy rights may have additional rights concerning personal information. If you believe such rights apply to you, contact us and we will make reasonable efforts to respond as required.

Children's Privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so that appropriate steps can be taken.

Changes to This Policy

If material changes are made to this privacy policy, the revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective or last-updated date.
